I played it a bit this weekend and loved it. The graphics IMHO make up for the lack of damage modeling and the physics and game play are definitely fun. It's a racing sim through and through. Can't wait for the full version as it will definitely be great to fill my garage with 400+ cars. I am a car lover and these games have always given me the chance to collect some of the worlds hottest cars and it is for that reason that I love these games.

Current cost of production is 400 bucks and with the sizing down of the current chips you can bet Sony will take it to the market to rule this holiday season. At the moment, they are outselling the 360 worldwide and will kill the MS console if they were to indeed price drop. You can bet that Sony is looking to capitalize this winter and due to the cut in chip size, we will definitely see a price drop and a bundle that will likely include Motorstorm 2 or Resistance 2 by Christmas.
It's just a matter of trying to live the next couple months patiently and not go into shock waiting. I can almost say at this moment, I NEED to play this game. It's getting to where I cannot stop thinking about playing this game... I know, it's sad but hey, it's MGS and this time we will get to see what happens to Snake.
I hope that all we are hearing today comes to fruition soon. I know how some corporate companies make these promises and fail to deliver due to some unforseen obstacles. In the article they made clear that Sony fights against itself at times due to the silo effect and in past history, it is evident that this has hampered their freedom to deliver. I hope that this video market place works since at the moment I rarely even turn on my 360 and at the time Sony delivers a video store, I may never ...
No matter your choice of platform or if you are a multiplatform owner, be a gamer above all and enjoy the real reason we all are a part of this hobby/industry.
At the moment, the PSN offers an open network where user created mods are free just as they are on the PC and due to MS's closed network, they have the power to force developers to charge for DLC. It seems to be a way for MS to make the buck even if the developer keeps the price low and refuses a profit at the expense of their fan base. I do wonder if it is the closed network that forces this and that we see how the open network of the PSN allows for more generous devs to keep the extra conte...
Will these be maps and mods that MS forces Epic to charge for?
Typically price drops spur on heavier sales. Not so much for MS though... Of course, they need to do something to compete with a company like Sony where Sony is the favored console maker.
The largest user base in the States is the Xbox 360 user base so if Gamefly was taking North American rental reserves then sure, the 360 version would have a higher rate of rentals. Am I all wet on this or is this just way to obvious?
1) Games in developement longer typically look better.
2) Consoles released a year earlier typically have larger user bases.
3) The sky is blue
4) Water is wet
5) Poop stinks
And so I am very hesitant to buy DLC. I like buying some simple DLC that costs a buck or two but dropping 10 to 15 bucks for something that really doesn't do much for my interest in the game is just something I don't do anymore.
Wish they would do this sort of thing around where I live.
For the PS3 then Epic would see fit to be more open about a higher level of support for the version over the 360. However, people on the PS3 didn't show and thus due to low sales, we see Epic trying to recoup some of the development costs on the other platform y throwing tricks their way to make sales on the 360. It's a natural way of the industry. If it would have sold millions on the PS3 then they would have not had to put a ton of effort into the 360 version and we would have possible gott...
Sorry, but I have it on the PS3 and that is more than enough for me. With all the free mods, this game has paid for itself time and time again on the PS3 and no special easter eggs in the 360 version will convince me to drop another 60 bucks on a gimped version. Heck, even GameStop has the game new this weekend for 35 bucks. Can't beat that with a stick. I'll just wait for somebody to YouTube the easter egg. lol
Cause if it is then this one has an art direction that I prefer greatly. I love the shots here and even though some are older, they are all pretty sick! Can't wait to play this one.
Do we need to see articles written about crap like this. The two games are completely different and appeal to two different people. Yeah we will have some that play both but some will play one and not the other. Whatever douchbag thought this crap up needs an enema. Halo 3 sold well because people wanted to finish the fight and see how it all ended and for GTA4, people want to see what R* can do with a next gen machine and see how they have improved their already fun and exciting game play. T...
It seems only fair to say the PS3 will win. I know that Nintendo is trying but this gen will not be over in a year or two but rather 7 to 8 years down the road. At the end of that time, the PS3 will have outsold everybody.
What are you smoking? Can you pass it along so I too can live in the dream?
Good god man figure it out. It is a port from the PC version to the PS3 and 360. The 360 hardware is more like the PC so put one and one together and you get two, or at least in my world you do...
Not a port... You're dreaming.
I like the first set of pics better. Looks like Epic's map is ok but not as good as the modders.
